Choir Trip

I'm really excited for tomorrow. Concert choir is going to UMSL tomorrow, and we're going to get to miss school. We're leaving at 8:45 and we won't be coming back until 2:15. We're going to UMSL so we can show the choir and the music directors there how good we are. Alot of people are surprised when we sing, because they don't expect our voices to be that developed in middle school. I think we're really good, but there are still a few things I think we could work on to make us better. When we go to UMSL, we're also going to be working with Dr. Henry, who is the choir director at UMSL, and Mr. Z said that he is really good. We're going to listen to the UMSL choir, and then they're going to listen to us sing, and we're going to get to work with Dr. Henry.

My First Thanksgiving As Host

urkey Brine Recipe, Thanksgiving Turkey Brine Recipe, How To Brine Turkey, Brining Turkey Article, How To Brine Poultry, How To Brine Chicken, Guidelines for Brining Chicken and Turkey
For my first Thanksgiving as host, I bought the biggest turkey they had in the store. After I went to the store and bought my turkey, I decided that I didn't need to put the turkey in the fridge since I was going to be using it for Thanksgiving the next day. I put the turkey on the counter, and let it sit. The next morning, I got up early, and then I put the turkey in the oven with the packaging on it and all. I set the time on the stove for five hours. It was only 8 am, so by the time the turkey would be done, all of my guests would be there. The first hour that I had the turkey in I started to smell a strange burning smell, so I went to check on the turkey. When I checked on it, I had found that the packaging had completely melting off, and some of it had melted into the turkey. At first I started to panic, and then I grabbed the turkey out as fast as I could, and then I tried to peel the packaging off, but it wouldn't come off. Then I found that it had all melted into the turkey, and the turkey was burned. And that's why we all ate hamburgers.

Thanksgiving! (:

Yipit — Saving You Money
I'm really excited for Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday other than Christmas. I love Thanksgiving, because it's a whole day dedicated to food, which I love more than anything in the universe. I'm going to my grandma's house for Thanksgiving this year. I love going to my grandma's for Thanksgiving because, she makes the best food, because she makes everything from scratch. This year she has a 22lb. turkey, and it's been in the fridge thaqing out for about a week now. She's also making mashed potatoes and gravy, broccoli cassarole, stuffing, corn, greenbean cassarole, rolls,  pumpkin pie, apple pie, cherry pie, six different cheescakes. I also love Thanksgiving because, I get to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, which starts getting me excited for Christmas. I also watch the annual dog show on Thanksgiving. I can't wait for Thanksgiving.

Flash Mobs

Flash mobs were made not too many years ago. Flash mobs are when you can communicate with someone without actually speaking to them. There are two different kinds of flash mobs. One kind of flash mob is when you do it just for fun, and another kind is for a special purpose. Although, flash mobs can be a fun way to tell someone something, there's a down side to them too. The down side of flash mobs is that they can sometimes cause riots to break out in large cities. But, most of the time now if a city knows that there is a flash mob being planned they will take a step ahead and prepare for it, by having police roaming the streets. Flash mobs can take hundreds of dollars of merchandise in just a few minutes. I think flash mobs are a fun and unique way to get your point across, and I enjoy watching them.

If I Were President

If I were president I would change alot of things. One thing I would change is, that I would make living, food, and gas prices alot lower, because alot of people are having trouble living in the economy we have now. I would also change how many days kids have to go to school a year, because I feel like nine months is a little much to just be spending time going to school. I would also change what time alot of schools start, and how long you have to go to school each day. I would make it to where school started at 10am, and ended at about 2pm, because I don't think you should have to get up at 6:00am, and not get out until 2:25, especially when you still have to do homework afterwards. It just seems like alot of wasted time. If I were president I would make this country better.

2012 Election

Barack Obama
I thought the 2012 election was a good presidental election, because I liked the results. I'm glad Obama got chosen instead on Romney, because Romney only wants things for the rich people, and Obama wants to try and help everyone else who needs help. If Romney would have been elected president, it would be alot harder for people to get food stamps. I wouldn't like it if I got my food stamps taken away, because I'm poor and I need my food. Also, if Romney would have been president, there wouldn't be student loans anymore. That would be bad because, I'm not rich and I'm not smart, so I'm going to need those student loans in about four years. I'm happy Obama got elected instead of Romney, because if Romney got elected instead, no one would be able to afford alot of things, and also beause I feel that Obama should have a chance to change some of the things he's promised.

Halloween

Last night was Halloween, and I thought it was pretty fun even though I don't go trick or treating anymore. Last night I went to my grandma's house in Arnold to hand out candy. There's always alot of people that go to her house every year. When I was handing out candy something really funny happend. There was a little boy who was dressed up as Spiderman, and he had a really big attitiude, and his mom was yelling at him. But after we gave the lttle boy his candy, he dropped his pumpkin basket down my grandma's hill, and all of his candy rolled out, and then he was standng at the top of the hill screaming.. My grandma thought it was funny, and she started laughing, and then I started laughing with her, because for some reason it was hilarious. It took the mom like twenty minuts to calm the little boy down, after he dropped his candy, because then she had him in a wagon, and he was still screaming, because she kept telling him that he was going to go home, and he didn't want to.
